Summary
ChronTrace is a Windows desktop app that keeps activity data on your machine. The app records foreground app names and window titles so it can build local reports. ChronTrace does not upload activity data to chrontrace.com.
What the app stores locally
- Foreground app name and window title.
- Activity sessions, categories, Focus/Neutral/Distraction bucket assignments, and Away from desktop spans.
- Settings such as capture interval, Away threshold, categories, app exclusions, widget preferences, todos, and opt-in productivity tools.
What the app does not collect
- No screenshots.
- No keylogging.
- No clipboard capture.
- No content capture from documents, websites, chats, or apps.
- No remote access to your desktop.
- No app telemetry from ChronTrace activity data.
Where data lives
Activity data is stored in a local SQLite database on your computer. You own that database file and can copy, back up, move, export, or delete it. The app shows the database path in Settings.
The website
chrontrace.com is a marketing, pricing, download, legal, and support website. It does not receive the activity data collected by the desktop app.
Analytics
Analytics are not enabled in this skeleton. If Plausible is enabled later, this section should name the final configuration and be reviewed before publication.
