ChronTrace

How it works

Install it, let it run, check the report when you need it.

ChronTrace is intentionally light on ceremony. It observes the foreground app, recognizes when you step away, and turns the day into a report.

1. Install

Download the signed Windows installer once the release URL is configured. Early reputation-building periods may still show Windows warnings; final publishing copy should describe that flow only when release details are known.

2. First run

Tracking starts quietly. Pomodoro, alarms, startup launch, and end-of-day summaries stay off until you enable them.

3. Read the day

Open the report to see top apps, category bars, task time, Focus progress, Neutral work, Distraction, and Away from desktop time.

The widget

A compact always-on-top clock can show focus progress and the pinned task. It can be hidden when you do not want it visible.

The report

Day view updates while today is active. Week, Month, and Analytics views help you look back without turning the app into a dashboard.

The database

Data is stored in a local SQLite file. The app shows the path in Settings so you can back it up, copy it, or delete it.
